Chapelle-Chambertin

The importance of the surface owned and the possibility of assembling four distinct lieux-dits make it possible to craft a wine that religiously reflects its terroir. Le Chapelle is delicate and exudes enchanting floral aromas (violet, rose). More subtle than many Grands Crus from Gevrey, its renowned texture elegance stands out. The finish is aromatic, highly refined, with pronounced salinity. To be enjoyed and aged for 20 years or more.

Description

The name Chapelle-Chambertin originates from the presence of the Notre-Dame de Bèze chapel, built in 1155 by monks from the Abbey of Bèze on this site but later dismantled. This vineyard, known as a “climat,” is located below the renowned Clos-de-Bèze.
The Domaine Damoy owns four parcels within this area. The main parcel, La Grande Chapelle, was planted in 1963, while the remaining vines were added in 1989. The other three parcels were planted in 1947. The soil of En la Chapelle is particularly shallow, making it prone to drought; however, the deep roots of old vines in these plots provide a significant advantage for accessing water and expressing the terroir’s unique characteristics.
The total area of Domaine Damoy’s holdings in this climat is 2.22 hectares, within a total climat surface of 5.4853 hectares
