Gevrey-Chambertin “Clos Tamisot”

Nose of citrus, bramble, and dark tobacco, preceding a deep and virile palate, both sapid and full-bodied, with waves of malted nuances reminiscent of Chambertin. To be enjoyed now or cellared for 20 years or more.

Description

Located north of the village, on the Brochon side, this parcel is adjacent to the estate and exclusively cultivated by us. It is a rare example of a true clos, entirely enclosed by walls. Officially classified only at the village appellation level, its wine quality and consistent character merit a higher hierarchy. Two-thirds of the vines were planted in 1922, and the remaining third in 1945. The grapes are often millerandé (small berries), with yields rarely exceeding 20 hl/ha. Aging lasts 18 months on fine lees in barrels, with up to 70% new oak.
